Dr. Ray Nassar
Biography
Research Scientist, Environment and Climate Change Canada, Principal Investigator for the Arctic Observation Mission (AOM).
Dr. Nassar is a Research Scientist at Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) with numerous scientific publications in atmospheric science, spectroscopy and the application of satellite remote sensing to studies of Earth’s environment. His current research focus is on the application of satellite observations and models for quantifying CO2 and CH4 emissions, where he works with data from NASA’s OCO-2, OCO-3 and numerous other satellite missions. He is also the principal investigator of the Canadian Arctic Observing Mission (AOM, www.aim-north.ca/aom), an innovative mission concept, which is undergoing Phase 0 study for the Canadian Space Agency (CSA) in partnership with Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC).
